About Her Samaya 🤎
Her Samaya is a growing creative community for South Asian women in Toronto & the GTA. In just a few months, we’ve grown to 2100+ members, hosting sold-out gatherings that blend art, culture, and sisterhood.
The word Samaya means “time” and at its heart, Her Samaya is about reclaiming time for ourselves. Time to create, to connect, to slow down, and to simply be. Our mission is to hold intentional spaces where South Asian women can belong fully, celebrate our shared roots, and build joyful new traditions together.
About our Saree Social Series 🌺
Her Samaya's Saree Social is a signature series created as a space for South Asian women to gather, connect, and embrace our culture in joyful, everyday ways. Each edition offers a new twist, where we celebrate traditions, share stories, and build belonging through food, fashion, and festivities. About the Founders 👩🏻 👩🏻
Her Samaya was founded by Sushmitha and Ameera, two South-Asian immigrant women who longed for a space that felt like home while living in Toronto. What began as a small creative outlet has now grown into a thriving community one that continues to build belonging and celebrate South Asian culture in all its diversity.
