The MCP ecosystem is moving fast, and Berlin is about to add another chapter to that story. Handpicked Live: Alpic Hack Night Berlin is a mini hackathon where builders come together for one evening to ship real MCP Apps with Alpic, organized by Handpicked Berlin in partnership with Mindspace Krausenstraße.
MCP Apps have become an official extension of the Model Context Protocol, and that shift opens up a new design space for anyone building tools that work across AI assistants. This night is an opportunity for builders to step into that space alongside technical staff from Alpic, in a room full of people doing the same.
1. What the night is about
The format is straightforward. Builders arrive with their laptops, get a technical deep dive into Alpic's open source framework Skybridge, then spend ninety minutes turning an idea into a working MCP App.
The theme of the build is solving an everyday "at work" issue, the kind of friction that anyone who leads a team or contributes inside a company recognises instantly, something that Handpicked Berlin has been championing with every event!
Solo builders are welcome, and teams of up to five members can enter together.

Winners are selected during an asynchronous judging round, which gives teams the weekend to refine their work before final submission at 23:59 on Sunday, 31 May.
3. The programme
18:00 Doors open. Pizza and drinks.
18:30 The organisers present the goal of the night, the prizes, and the deliverables.
18:45 Technical deep dive into building MCP Apps with the Skybridge framework.
19:15 The hack session begins. Teams have ninety minutes to bring an idea to life using the Alpic starter App template. Technical staff from Alpic will be on site to help. Pizza and drinks available to fuel your hack!
20:45 Lightning pitch session. A few teams are selected to showcase their project on stage with a one minute pitch, purely for fun.
21:00 Wrap up!
4. Where and when
The event takes place on Thursday, 28 May 2026 at Mindspace Krausenstraße in Berlin.
Registration is required and approval from the organisers is needed to confirm a spot.
