Latin American Governments on Carbon Removal as an Investment and Development Pathway - LatAM focus
Latin American governments are writing the rules that will decide whether carbon removal brings in investment, jobs and export revenue, or simply makes them a supply region for buyers elsewhere.
This panel brings together government voices from Bolivia and Brazil with project developers building removal projects in the region.
They will discuss carbon removal as a development pathway: attracting foreign investment, including through Article 6, adding value to agricultural and forestry residues, and creating economic and social value locally. Looking ahead to COP32, the session also asks what needs to happen next to give removals a stronger place on the negotiating agenda.
