crafty climate night: dinner + butterflies
What if small actions really could change everything?
This month at Soapbox Seattle (the city's most joyful community space), our theme is health x climate change—and we're closing it out with a night of reflection, imagination, and butterflies. 🦋
We’ll gather for dinner, conversation, and an art project inspired by the butterfly effect: the idea that small shifts can lead to big changes. We'll reflect on how individual and collective actions—whether it’s a bike ride, a breath, or a hospital policy—can ripple out into a healthier, more just world.
Then, we’ll get crafty and make our own butterflies—symbols of transformation, movement, and possibility.
And guess what?! Our butterflies will be featured at the gallery for the month of September!
Whether you come for the conversation, the art, or just to unwind with climate-minded friends, we’d love to have you.
The general plan:
6-6:45 dinner & yap
6:45-7:30 community reflections facilitated by trauma-informed therapist Dana Daugherty (who is also a soapbox member! yay)
7:30-9:00 butterfly-making facilitated by local artist Alex Nason
Request a reparative ticket here if needed.
This space is hosted by Soapbox Project, a nonprofit that creates joyful community structures to heal our climate anxiety and loneliness through expertly facilitated connection, learning, and action activities. Find your place in the climate movement with our online and in-person community!
