About Event

A new analysis maps oil and gas wells in proximity to Arlington, Texas, schools, as fears of exposure of 50,000+ schoolchildren to fracking sites and gas wells continues to grow. This release happens as international attention turns to the city during the World Cup.

Ranjana Bhandari, director of Liveable Arlington will present the findings and local context, Cullen Smith, FracTracker Alliance will walk through the interactive buffer map, and Dr. Larysa Dyrszka, Concerned Health Professionals of New York (CHPNY) will explain what proximity to oil and gas development means for families.

CHPNY has assembled and analyzed the entire body of evidence on the risks and harms of fracking for over a decade and is called on worldwide to bring this research to oil and gas policy decision making.

Join us to learn the importance of this new Arlington data by providing highlights from Texas-based and national peer-reviewed studies on the harms of living in proximity to oil and gas development.

CHPNY's full statement on the occasion of the Arlington data release can be found here. It draws particular attention to the profound risks posed to infants and children.
