About Event

Not all ambitious science fits neatly within existing boundaries.

The Higgs Community Summit brings together scientists and innovators across the UK working on ambitious ideas that sit outside traditional funding models, institutions, and disciplinary boundaries.

Throughout the day, expect to:

  • Meet peers exploring new ideas beyond academia and venture

  • Hear from Programme Directors at ARIA and other leaders shaping the future of ambitious science

  • Learn about emerging models for science and the UK’s AI for Science strategy

  • Engage with founders of Frontier Research Organisations, and fellows from the Frontier Research Contractors (FRCs) and BiTS programmes

  • Hear from research and philanthropic funders backing high-risk research

Speakers include:

  • Kanishka Narayan - UK Minister for AI

  • Ed Boyden - MIT

  • Tom Kalil - CEO, Renaissance Philanthropy

  • Ottoline Leyser - former CEO of UK Research and Innovation

  • Henry Lee - CEO of Cultivarium FRO
