About Event

What does inclusive design really mean in practice?

In our next virtual meetup, we’ll explore the what, why, and how of inclusive design—why it matters, who it impacts, and how we can apply it in our daily design practice.

As part of learning from the Interaction Design Foundation course Accessibility for All, by Frank Spillers, we’ll discuss why inclusive design ensures that people—regardless of gender, location, language, or physical and cognitive abilities—can access and enjoy products and services.

Inclusive design invites us to recognize groups who have historically been excluded from product design, including:

• Women
• People of color
• People with non-binary identities (LGBTQ+)
• People who do not speak English as a first language
• People with restricted mobility
• People with different cognitive abilities

Bring an experience from your work where inclusive design inspired your thinking or influenced how you approached a project. We’d love to learn from real stories and perspectives from the community.
