A hands-on WebXR creator workshop presented by CreateHER Fest × Vonage
DIALED IN is a five-city workshop roadshow bringing creators, developers, artists, founders, and emerging technologists together to build what comes after the flat screen.
At this stop, Vonage Developer Advocate Dwane Hemmings will lead a live, hands-on workshop showing how voice and real-time communication can power immersive experiences in the browser. You'll build a working WebXR experience — wired to a real phone call — in a single evening. No XR experience needed.
What the evening includes
→ A community mixer with people building across technology, design, art, and emerging media
→ A hands-on WebXR build session led by Dwane Hemmings (Vonage)
→ An introduction to the DIALED IN Builder Challenge — $5,000 in prizes across all five cities
→ Food, swag, and meaningful connections across the local tech ecosystem
The Builder Challenge
The workshop is just the start. After the event, you'll have 14 days to keep building and submit your project to the DIALED IN Builder Challenge for a chance at $5,000 in prizes — including Best in Miami ($350 cash), Most Creative Use of Voice API ($1,000), Most Practical Build ($1,000), Best First-Time Builder ($1,000), and People's Choice ($250).

No XR experience required. Bring your laptop, your curiosity, and your willingness to build. All are welcome, with an intentional focus on creating space for women and underrepresented builders in emerging technology.
