About Event

Join us for PechaKucha @ Arts x Tech Lab: Kinetics: Forces & Feedback, where artists and technologists examine how invisible forces — gravitational, mechanical, and environmental — animate objects, spaces, and collective experience.

Movement is never isolated. It emerges from gravitational, mechanical, and environmental forces, and evolves through feedback between systems. This Arts x Tech PechaKucha session, Kinetics: Forces & Feedback, explores movement across scales, from machines and mechanics to planetary, living rhythms. Come join us to hear artists and technologists share what sparks their fascination with movement, and get a peek behind the scenes at the ideas, experiments, and processes that keep both their work and spirit in motion.

Kinetic practices today reveal how movement arises through systems of interaction: how forces act upon matter, how environments shape behaviour, and how feedback loops generate dynamic exchanges. Yet these systems are not autonomous; they are activated, perceived, and completed through human experience. Kinetics: Forces & Feedback invites us to consider movement as something we do not simply observe, but inhabit, where bodies, materials, and environments continuously respond to one another, and where feedback becomes felt, sensed, and lived.

Registration is from 7.00pm-7.30pm. Light refreshments will be provided before the session.

Please come on time. Late entry will be managed at suitable intervals between speakers.

Guest programmer Irmandy Wicaksono

Irmandy Wicaksono is a transdisciplinary engineer, artist, and designer and Director of the Soft Technologies Lab at the NUS Division of Industrial Design. He investigates functional and non-functional fibers and fabric architectures, developing knitted systems with sensing, actuation, and computational capabilities that bridge physical and digital experiences.

Organised by Tusitala, with support from Creative Tech SG

This programme is supported by the National Arts Council’s Arts x Tech Lab initiative.

The art tech PechaKucha has been hosted by various organisers and curators within the Creative Tech SG Telegram community since 2023 (details here).
