Curious Neighbours: Makers Meetup

​It’s August, which usually means we're all being forced to remember what it is we actually do for a living after weeks of doing very little of anything. Before we fully disappear back behind our screens, we wanted to do the literal opposite.

​So for our next meetup, we’re heading to Maker.

​Founded back in 2015 as a hub for the Nordic maker movement, Maker has evolved from a standard makerspace into an open lab and community center for physical entrepreneurs, independent creatives, and anyone who prefers working with raw materials.

​If you have an interest in woodworking, metalwork, textile design, or digital fabrication—or if you're just curious about how to get started—this one is very much for you.

​What to expect:

• ​17:30 – Tour of the space: A quick walkthrough of the wood and metal workshops, textile atelier, and digital fab lab, plus a short intro to what Maker actually does. Joining is entirely optional, so no pressure if you'd rather just drop in later.

• ​18:00–20:00 – Gathering & Drinks: The usual opportunity to grab a drink and hang out with other international (and internationally-minded) creatives.

​Our kind hosts will have soft drinks, beer, and wine available for purchase throughout the evening.

We’re crossing our fingers for skies sunny enough to sit outside, though if you’ve lived here long enough, you know hope is a fragile strategy in Denmark, so if the weather turns on us, we’ll take it from there.

​If you’re an international working in a creative field, come along. Danes are just as welcome, especially if you’re curious about meeting creatives from elsewhere. Feel free to bring a friend.
