Around the world, a growing movement is redefining humanity’s relationship with Nature. The Rights of Nature movement recognises that ecosystems like rivers, forests, oceans, and even entire bioregions, have inherent rights.
From Indigenous leadership in the Americas to emerging legal frameworks in Europe, Africa, Asia-Pacific, Antarctica and around the globe, communities are advancing new approaches to environmental protection rooted in law and relationships.
Join Lawyers for Nature, the Global Alliance for the Rights of Nature (GARN), Letters to the Earth and their friends for Rights of Nature in Action: Field Notes and Stories from Around the World. Through storytelling, reflection, and dialogue, global Rights of Nature advocates will bring their unique perspectives and hands-on experiences to London Climate Action Week.
Climate discussions often focus on policy and technological solutions. While these are essential, they can leave little room for the emotional and relational dimension of environmental action. Many people working in climate spaces are motivated by a deep love for the natural world, yet this connection is rarely centered within our climate forums.
This event intends to create space during London Climate Action Week to reconnect climate leaders, policymakers, and advocates with the living ecosystems around them to answer the questions: What can we learn from each other? How can we support each other?
