Down to Earth: Aerospace Engineer to Entrepreneur
NASA Engineer Turned Startup Founder Shares Her Entrepreneurial Journey
Presented by IGNITE Tallahassee: A CEO Speaker Series
Brittany Zimmerman spent years engineering life-support systems for NASA, reclaiming water and air for astronauts in space. Today, she's applying that same expertise to one of Earth's biggest challenges: waste. In this talk, Brittany shares her journey from aerospace engineer to founder and CEO of Yummet, covering the leap from government R&D to startup life and what it really takes to turn a mission-driven idea into a scalable company.
Brittany Zimmerman is an Aerospace Systems Engineer who was selected as the youngest NASA Principal Investigator early in her career. She patented technologies and led the development of technologies for the International Space Station, Artemis Program, future habitation, and the Department of Defense. She founded Yummet on aerospace systems engineering principles and is translating Sustainable Technologies for Celestial applications and commercializing them Terrestrially. Yummet builds infrastructure-scale recovery assets that turn municipal waste streams into primary supply chain inputs.
