About Event

Extreme heat threatens the lives and health of many New Yorkers, but there are still many data gaps in our understanding of those impacts. ICF and NYSERDA are partnering to put on this "datathon", where we invite large dataset managers and the public to explore how data can help us better address heat vulnerability.

Participants will collaborate by choosing a vulnerable population to focus on, identify heat-related data gaps for that population, and construct a proposal to fill those data gaps. A rough agenda is provided:

  • 45 minutes: Welcome, Overview, and Activity Orientation

  • 60 minutes: Design Sprint #1

  • 30 minutes: Food Break + Speaker

  • 60 minutes: Design Sprint #2

  • 45 minutes: Participant Pitches and Wrap-Up
