Demand is showing tech-like hockey-stick growth, and the disruption is causing more bankruptcies in the Japanese tea industry than ever before, even as a handful of producers take record profits. As the gold rush accelerates with Western brands backed by $100M+ venture rounds, this closed-door Strategy Dialogue examines People-to-People Commerce — an alternative model returning value to the small-scale farmers, factories, and artisans at the heart of Japanese tea.
