Claude Corps Application Sprint
Anthropic just launched Claude Corps, a paid fellowship that places early-career people inside nonprofits to put AI to work on real problems. Applications for the first cohort close July 17. We're hosting a hands-on working session to help you put your strongest application forward, whether you're ready to apply now or need a project to point to first.
What is Claude Corps?
Anthropic (in partnership with CodePath and Social Finance) is paying students & early career professionals (anyone with under 2 years of full-time work experience, over the age of 18) to embed within nonprofits across the country.
Fellows are placed full-time inside a mission-driven nonprofit, earn an $85,000 salary plus benefits, and receive ongoing AI training throughout the year. It's built as a career on-ramp for people early in their working lives.
Who can apply:
Anyone over 18
Under two years of full-time work experience
No education requirement
Authorized to work in the US (not through a student visa or employer-sponsored status)
Comfortable working with Claude
First-cohort applications close July 17 and start in October 2026. Applications stay open on a rolling basis for the January 2027 and August 2027 cohorts, so it's worth applying even if October feels fast.
Registrations for this event close 9am this Friday, July 10. Please bring your ID to check in.
What we'll do together
Come for whichever fits where you are:
Ready to apply this cycle? We'll help you sharpen your application and talk through how to present your experience with AI, your communication, and your motivation for impact-driven work.
Need a project first? The program is looking for people who can build. We'll help you scope and get started on something end-to-end, a tool or automation you can ship, talk about honestly, and use as proof of what you can do. For those who want to build out a portfolio project for a future application, the Labs next build cycle starts July 14th.
Before this event, you need to complete Anthropic's free AI Fluency and Claude 101 courses. Proof of completion is required for the Claude Corps application.
Many thanks to Accenture for hosting us!

About The Upskilling Labs
Ready to be part of it? Join the community of hundreds of Upskillers (and growing) today.
The Upskilling Labs is an open, project-based learning community where you build real things with real people. Every quarter, we run a Build Cycle themed around an industry—participants form pods around real problems, develop AI-enabled solutions together, and showcase what they've built. No credentials required. Just show up ready to learn alongside others.
Support our work here — the subscriptions, name tags, and venue fees all add up, and every dollar helps. We're currently working to raise our first $18,000 to fund our founding DC Chapter's operations through the end of the year.
