​Some of the most interesting creative work happens in the spaces we build around ourselves. Studios are the workbenches we carve out and call ours.

​For Alexis Clukey, hatmaker and founder of Wander Wild, that space took a decade to find. From marketing hats, to an apprenticeship that felt like coming home to herself, to a South Austin studio where every hat is shaped, blocked, and built one at a time.

​About the gathering

​Join us for an intimate In The Studio session at Alexis's Wander Wild studio.

​This is an intentionally small gathering for Austin-based makers and artisan founders. A chance to see Alexis's space, hear her story, and reflect together on where art meets business and what it means to build a business that's an extension of you, not just what you sell.

​What to expect

​This 2-hour weekend event is open-house style: explore the space (Alexis' home and studio), see how custom hats are built from scratch, and meet fellow founders and artisans. We'll gather toward the end for a lightly facilitated conversation about creative integrity, what luxury actually means (hint: it's not the price point!), and the mindset of building with patrons rather than manufacturing for customers.

​Small bites and drinks will be shared.

​To capture the energy of the event and Alexis's studio, there will be some light photography so we can share with the broader artist and creative founder scene in our city.

​About Alexis' work

​After apprenticing with TROVADOR Customs and leading hatmaking at Ballad of the Bird Dog in Brenham, Texas, Alexis started Wander Wild. She draws inspiration from the cosmic magic of the West Texas deserts

​All of Alexis's hats are handmade and one of a kind. Each piece is an act of craft and tradition, shaped to the person as much as the design, so the wearer becomes part of the canvas.

​Investing in a Wander Wild hat is investing in a maker, a relationship, and a tradition worth keeping alive. Not to mention a hat that will last a lifetime.
