Music Industry 101, Session 1: Songwriting & Publishing
Session 1 of the 4-part Music Industry 101 series explores the commercial world of songwriting & music publishing.
In this four-part Music Industry 101 series, Pablo Max will walk aspiring commercial musicians through how the industry at-large works. This series is aimed at anyone curious about working in the music industry, becoming a professional artist, songwriter, or producer, or general curiosity about the inner workings of the business.
In Session #1, Pablo will cover Songwriting & Music Publishing. What is a song? What are songwriters? How are songs made? Who participates in a song’s copyright & how is that determined? How do songwriters get paid? What is a Performing Rights Organization? What is a music publisher?
Note: Each session is structured independently and can be attended separately without missing context.
