Safeguard Our Backyards: Join the Campaign for Health-Based Protective Buffers from Fracking
The Marcellus shale industry has been allowed to drill dangerously close to Pennsylvania homes, schools, hospitals, and waterways for years, and dozens of scientific studies now confirm this has harmed our health and environment. It’s past time for our government to update old laws – which never took public health into account by implementing greater protective buffer distances to keep us safe. Protective Buffers PA, a coalition of nonprofits and resident groups, is aiming to do just that.
Join us on Wednesday, September 24th at 7pm to hear firsthand accounts from affected residents, learn about our petition asking PA’s Environmental Quality Board for statewide minimum setback distances, and find out how you can join the movement!
