Vancouver CISM Study Group

​Welcome to the Vancouver CISM Study Group.

​This meetup is for anyone who is preparing for the CISM exam or simply interested in information security management, governance, and risk. Whether you are just getting started or already working in cybersecurity, audit, compliance, or IT, you are very welcome here.

​The purpose of this group is to create a friendly and supportive space where people can study together, exchange ideas, ask questions, and encourage one another. We hope to make CISM preparation feel less isolating and more enjoyable through discussion, shared learning, and mutual support.

​I’ll help guide the session based on my background and certifications, including CISM, CISA, CRISC, CGEIT, and CISSP, ISO27001, but this group is not only about studying — it is also about meeting like-minded people, building connections, and growing together.

​In this session, we’ll:

​• Get to know each other and share our CISM goals  

​• Explore key concepts from Domain 1 (Governance fundamentals)  

​• Work through a few exam-style questions together  

​• Open discussion for any CISM-related topics
