About Event

PHG Paschal-Hunter Gallery presents THE INSATIABLE QUEST FOR FEELING, an interactive art exhibit where gallery visitors are invited to collaborate with each other to build a digital archive documenting the human experience.

On a mission to understand what it means to feel, an AI agent invites gallery visitors to leave notes to future visitors with the prompt: “What does being me feel like?” As visitors leave their notes, they watch the outcome of their action unfold and they begin to weigh if contributing to this beautiful archive was worth the cost of what it unlocks.

Join for an engaging conversation with multimedia artist and Forbes’ Top 50 Women in Tech programmer Daphne Larose-Molapo around what inspired the work and how it ties in themes of spirituality, identity, AI, and humanity’s opportunity to pause and reflect on itself. Interact with the installation and decide for yourself if the ends justify the means.

FREE DRINKS: Wine and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided.

TICKETS AVAILABLE AT THE DOOR: Tickets will be available for purchase at the door. Seating is limited and first come, first serve.

DISCOUNT AT THE DOOR: All teachers and students who attend this event can present an ID at the door and receive $5 off the ticket price.

ARTIST BIO: Daphne Larose-Molapo is a celebrated programmer and multimedia artist. As a programmer for nearly 20 years, Daphne has been featured as one Forbes’ Top 50 Women in Tech, holds a patent for building innovative tech in the top app store game Pokemon GO, among many other accolades. She has worked on incredible features at esteemed companies like Apple and led teams as a senior software engineer on Pokemon GO. She is currently CTO of Wicked Saints Studios, a game startup dedicated to empowering young people to build real-life skills and create real change.

As a multimedia artist, Daphne has the space to combine her skills with her sharp eye and creative lens and push the limits on the kinds of questions we ask ourselves. She believes when we push technology as a society, we should do so consciously; that we should never move so fast that we rid ourselves of the time to question and evaluate. As an artist, she sees the value of grappling with challenging big picture questions and fine art provides the perfect avenue to encourage others to do the same so that they can arrive at their own conclusions, whether that conclusion is changing directions or staying the course, full speed ahead.
