Oversized Peter Pan Collar Workshop
Taught by our favorite in-house clothing designer Zoloo, this hands-on workshop will guide you through creating a super-sized Peter Pan-style detachable collar that you can add to any outfit!
We at Kiki & Bouba believe in the magic of a great oversized collar and what it can do for your look and we’re going to teach you exactly how to make one. We want you to be able to throw this collar on any outfit and make your look that much more special!
The session will open with a look at collar construction basics, the design decisions that go into making one feel intentional and well-made as well as a bit of history on collars. Zoloo will demo the full process, from pattern and fabric selection to cutting, sewing, and finishing, so you have a clear picture before you start your own.
Then you'll get into it. You will get to choose between 3 different collars patterns and add your own flare to it via trimmings. Once you choose your pattern style, you will get to choose your material color and get into cutting and making! We’ll be circling the room the whole time, available for fit questions, design input, or just a second pair of hands when you need one. By the end of the session, you'll leave with a finished collar that's ready to wear.
About the Instructor: Zoloo is a multidisciplinary artist, designer, and co-founder of Kiki & Bouba Craft Lab in Brooklyn. With a background in bespoke lighting and product design, Zoloo is known for blending playful aesthetics with precise making techniques. Through Kiki & Bouba, she teaches thoughtfully designed, process-driven workshops that emphasize creativity, craftsmanship, and experimentation with materials.

Work surface and iron station

Because of that, our classes can be skill intensive and hands-on. We have a very small seat capacity so that everyone can get the attention they need.
