About Event

Join AISO for an inspiring and practical session with Bart van Dun (Partner at Metyis) and Maarten Stramrood (CDO at Nutreco) on bringing ML into Nutreco's pricing process.

As artificial intelligence rapidly moves beyond dashboards and rule-based systems, we are entering a new era of commercial decision-making, one driven by adaptive models and real-time signals. In this session, we'll explore how machine learning is moving from proof-of-concept into the core monthly rhythm of pricing at Nutreco, a global leader in animal nutrition (€5-6B in revenue) and part of SHV, the largest family-owned company in the Netherlands.

Drawing on Metyis's perspective at the intersection of AI, data, and strategy, we introduce key concepts such as ML-driven price definition, regional price adaptation, and margin simulation. It explains why pricing, with its blend of internal transactions, commodity volatility, and macro-economic signals, is the ideal first frontier for ML in a business built on operations.

A key theme: AI in pricing is no longer just analytics. It is becoming the operating system for commercial decisions at scale.

What we'll cover:

  • The Metyis partnership model shares risk and upsides by staying through implementation

  • Inside SHV: governance, culture, and how digital transformation lands in a multi-generational industrial group

  • How pricing at Nutreco traditionally works, and how ML is implemented to support the process

  • Under the hood: how the model combines internal transactional data with commodity prices, inflation, and macro-economic indicators

  • Why ML beats rule-based approaches: adaptiveness, scalability, and weighing dozens of signals at once

  • Open Q&A on careers, data science in industry, and AI in commercial decision-making

Schedule

16:30 to 17:00: Doors open, 17:00 to 18:30: Keynote and Q&A, 18:30 to 20:30: Drinks and networking at Crea.
