Lightning Talk: From Alert Triage to Autonomous Investigation: Our Agentic AI Journey
What if your security alerts could investigate themselves?
At idealo, the team built an AI-powered triage platform that gathers context, correlates evidence across security data sources, and turns noisy alerts into clear investigation summaries.
The difficult part wasn’t simply connecting AI to security tools. It was figuring out how much autonomy to give the system, how to keep investigations focused, how to manage secure access, how to deal with incomplete evidence, and ultimately how to prove that the conclusions were reliable.
In this talk, the team will share:
What worked and what didn’t
How they approached autonomy and guardrails
How they evaluate AI-generated investigations against human analyst conclusions
The challenges of working with incomplete or ambiguous evidence
Lessons learned turning agentic AI from a demo into something useful for real security operations
Panel: Building Security Teams in the AI Era
We’ll follow the talk with a panel looking beyond the technology itself and asking what these changes mean for the people building and joining security teams.
As AI takes on more repetitive analysis and early-stage work, how do we make sure new security professionals still develop the experience and judgement they need? What skills will security leaders increasingly look for? And how should companies rethink hiring, training, and career development as the work itself changes?
We’ll explore topics including:
How AI is changing the skills security teams need
The impact of automation on different career levels and roles
How people gain practical experience when AI can perform more entry-level tasks
Emerging skills gaps in cybersecurity
How security leaders should think about training and developing new colleagues
What hiring managers and recruiters will value in the next generation of security talent
