Fright to Repair: A Halloween Mending Workshop with Basilica Bio
FRIGHT TO REPAIR | A HALLOWEEN MENDING WORKSHOP WITH BASILICA BIO
Basilica Bio invites you to a frightfully fun night of creativity, repair, and community care. 🧵🎃
Every Halloween, millions of costumes, decorations, and candy wrappers end up in the landfill, but we’re here to change that. Join us at the Capitol Hill Tool Library for an evening that’s equal parts educational and enchanting, as we explore how the Right to Repair movement can make our celebrations (and our closets) more sustainable.
We’ll kick off the night with a quick introduction to the Right to Repair movement, followed by a round of waste trivia to test your spooky smarts. Then we’ll roll up our sleeves for a hands-on DIY costume and repair session, using reclaimed materials to create (or mend!) your Halloween look. Expect pizza, candy alternatives, creative crafting, and maybe even a giveaway or two.
Whether you’re a seasoned sewer or a sustainability newbie, this workshop will leave you with practical skills, new ideas, and a renewed sense of what community repair can do (as well as introduce you to the Capitol Hill Tool Library). Because this Halloween, we’re haunting waste, not the planet. ♻️👻
