From Invisible to Accountable: Designing digital products in the age of AI
Digital is no longer invisible. Every AI-powered feature, every generated response, every retry carries a real environmental and societal cost - yet these consequences remain largely absent from how design and product teams make decisions.
This talk argues that sustainability and responsibility must become a core quality attribute of using and designing digital products - and especially AI. It is not about rejecting AI or slowing down innovation. Instead, it is a practical invitation to use AI deliberately and responsibly.
Moving from principle to practice, this session offers concrete design and technology decisions that reduce environmental and societal impacts and a practical starting point or turning sustainability and responsibility in AI from good intention into everyday practice.
