AI Art Workshop: Create a Place You Wish Existed
This beginner-friendly workshop is an introduction to seeing, imagining, and creating with AI.
You’ll be guided through the creative process by an artist from Stanford, who will share an artist’s perspective on how to observe and interpret a place — from light, color, material, nature, and scale to the way people move through a space.
An AI researcher will then introduce ways to work with generative AI more intentionally, helping you move beyond simply generating a beautiful image and use AI to express an idea that is meaningful to you.
Who Is This For?
This workshop is for:
Artists and creatives curious about artificial intelligence
Engineers, researchers, and people in tech who want to explore a different side of creativity
Designers, photographers, architects, writers, and makers
Anyone curious about AI art or generative AI
People interested in spaces, human experience, and self-expression
Anyone who wants to meet thoughtful people from different backgrounds and create something together
No art, design, architecture, software engineering, or AI experience is required.
What We’ll Explore
We’ll begin with one simple question:
What should this place make possible?
Maybe it’s a room where you can be alone without feeling lonely.
A public space where strangers naturally connect.
A workplace designed for deep focus.
Or somewhere that helps people rest, heal, play, dream, or begin again.
During the workshop, you’ll:
Learn how an artist observes and interprets a place
Explore how light, color, material, nature, scale, and human presence shape how a place feels
Reflect on a place you personally wish existed
Develop your idea through a guided creative exercise
Learn how to translate an idea into a meaningful AI-generated image
Create and iterate on your own work
Share your creation and the story behind it in a welcoming environment
View everyone’s work together inside the gallery
The goal is not to create the most beautiful image or write the perfect prompt.
It’s to slow down, notice what matters to you, make intentional creative choices, and use AI as a medium for imagination and self-expression.
What to Bring
A phone is all you need.
You’re also welcome to bring a laptop or tablet if you prefer creating on a larger screen.
Light snacks and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided.
Create, Share & Stay Connected
The experience doesn’t have to end when the workshop does.
Participants will be invited to join the AIC Discord community, where you can stay connected with people you meet, share work, exchange ideas, and continue conversations after the event.
You’ll also have the opportunity to submit your artwork to be featured on the AIC website.
If you enjoy writing, you can submit reflections, essays, or stories about your creative process, ideas, or relationship with AI and art. Selected artwork and writing may be featured through AIC as part of our growing creative community.
About AIC
Aesthetic Intelligence Circle is a San Fransisco Bay Area community exploring the intersection of AI, art, creativity, and human connection.
We bring together people from different backgrounds to observe, experiment, create, and share — using AI not just as a tool, but as a medium for exploring ideas and expressing what matters to us.
