Read Between the Wines: a classics book club!
hi! we’re a cozy, classics-only book club for people who love good books, good conversation, and a good glass of wine 🍷
we’ll be reading and discussing works from classical literature, philosophy, and psychology - timeless ideas, big questions, and the kind of books that stay with you. no need to be an expert, just come curious and open to reading and learning!!
i strongly believe events like this should be accessible to everyone, so there’s no entrance fee. both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks will be available. please consider purchasing something to support the venue <3
come for the books, stay for the conversation.
what to expect at our first meet-up:
a short period of silent reading 🕯️
a discussion on the classics we’re currently reading or have recently read 💭
a group reading and discussion of a short story (a hunger artist by kafka) 📖
a small shared library during reading hours 📚
down the line, we might explore:
themed nights (existentialism, love, madness, morality, identity, free will)🧠
poetry or essay evenings ✍🏼
“bring a passage” nights 🗝️
what counts as a classic? i'm not super picky! and open to all classical genres (non-fiction, fiction). just use your senses, and no judgement with whatever book you bring.
less wattpad/webnovels (though these books also have a place in my heart). not trying to be elitist here, but trying to curate the space :))
