​A Capture the Flag (CTF) is a cybersecurity competition where participants solve hands-on technical challenges to earn points. These challenges can include cryptography, web security, reverse engineering, forensics, and more. It is a fun and practical way to build skills, learn something new, and connect with others interested in cybersecurity.

​uOCTF 2026 is a beginner-friendly in-person event open to students and cybersecurity enthusiasts of all experience levels. Whether you are brand new to CTFs or already have some experience, this event is a chance to learn, compete, and meet others in the community.

​You do not need to be a University of Ottawa student to participate. You can register individually or compete in teams of up to 3.
