​Join the Geospatial Engineering Students Association (GESA), University of Nairobi, for our August Company Spotlight featuring Flux Carbon, a Kenya-based climate technology company pioneering Enhanced Rock Weathering (ERW) as a carbon removal solution.

​Flux Carbon uses naturally occurring rock powders on agricultural land to help remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere while improving soil health and supporting agricultural productivity. The company combines rigorous scientific measurement with geospatial technologies, remote sensing, environmental modelling, and data science to monitor and verify carbon removal at scale.

​Based in Nairobi and operating in western Kenya, Flux Carbon is working to scale carbon removal solutions across Africa. Its work sits at the intersection of climate action, agriculture, carbon markets, Earth observation, GIS, and spatial data science—demonstrating how geospatial professionals can contribute to some of the most important environmental challenges of our time.
