Designing Symbiotic Futures with Carlos Silveira
In this workshop, you will learn how to ideate and collaborate in interdisciplinary teams around shared objectives, whilst bringing your own unique technical expertise. Whether you are an artist, engineer, electrician, designer, computer scientist, or beyond.
We'll speculate and hybridize different engineering fields to idealize artifacts, solutions, and reflections that imply a collaborative mindset driven by a future where our surroundings are alive. It will explore and envision a future where our interactions between humans and machines are blurred and driven by ecological principles.
Your workshop host, Carlos Silveira, is a biodesigner and biofuturist focused on developing technologies integrating biological patterns, materials, and logics to create biodesign solutions for problems that haven't happened yet. He is head of bioart projects at the iGEM Community and is pursuing a Master's in Design for Emergent Futures at Barcelona with a research focus on Biohybrid Robots.
