7th International Rights of Nature Tribunal - A Voice for Antarctica: Alive with Rights
Antarctica, including the surrounding Southern Ocean, covers ten percent of Earth’s surface and plays a vital role in maintaining the conditions that enable life to flourish. Yet this unique biome and community of life is today harmed, pressured by various threats, and pushed to its limits.
The International Rights of Nature Tribunal will join the Antarctic Rights Festival 2026, organized by Antarctic Rights, bringing together Indigenous representatives, artists, activists, lawyers, scientists, civil society organizations and curious minds from around the world to explore new ways of seeing, valuing and relating to Antarctica, the Southern Ocean and the more-than-human world—and imagine a future shaped by respect, reciprocity and Earth-centered governance.
This 7th International Rights of Nature Tribunal will focus on the threats and challenges posed to Antarctica and her inherent rights, advocating for their recognition and protection.
