Los Mambiseros: Cuban Jazz, Son, Bolero, Rumba & Poetry

​Dance, movement, and music have long been central to protest movements across the world. Join Los Mambiseros, a Boston-based Traditional Cuban Music and Fusion project to share and celebrate Cuba’s folkloric culture, music, and dance. Inspired by the rebellious spirit of revolutionary guerrilla fighters during the Cuban Wars of Independence, Los Mambiseros will lead a night rich with Afro-Cuban drumming, Carribbean poetry, and diasporic reflections.

​Los Mambiseros is a flexible trio to quintet that focuses on traditional Cuban music such as Son (Buena Vista Social Club), Salsa, Rumba, and Boleros. Their performances include genres such as Jazz and Flamenco and meaningfully engage audiences through crowd work by teaching dance and history.

​Our café will be open throughout the evening with drinks and light offerings. As a nonprofit, purchases from the café help sustain Minara and support the care, labor, and resources that make this space possible.

​​Please note: This event is free and open to all. Those who are able are invited to make a $15 suggested donation (or more) to help sustain Minara and the care, labor, and resources that make this space possible. No one will ever be turned away for lack of funds.

​​​​RSVPs help us plan and follow up but do not guarantee a seat. Seating is mixed: chairs, floor, and standing room. Walk-ins are welcome until we reach our 50-person capacity.
