About Event

Goal of the Talk

Providing participants with a clear understanding of the key aspects of the medical device development process – from identifying a clinical need, through design, safety and performance evaluation, to commercialisation. Our aim is to enable participants to effectively support such development, identify opportunities and ultimately decide to create their own medical devices that improve patient care.

Agenda

Developing new, technologically innovative solutions is an extremely engaging process that can only succeed through strong collaboration between clinicians, engineers and business professionals. Every element must be properly conceived, developed, validated, tested, prepared for manufacturing and certified. These areas are often unfamiliar to those embarking on forward-looking initiatives. Therefore, in addition to multidisciplinary scientific knowledge, it is essential to dedicate sufficient time and attention to gaining a solid understanding of regulatory, product, design and business aspects.

An opportunity to gain a clear overview of “what MedTech product development looks like” will be provided through a session with Consonance – a company offering comprehensive support (including engineering, regulatory and manufacturing services) to startups, project teams and clinicians developing such products.

During the session, we will discuss:

●     medical device development strategy,

●     regulations and certification,

●     engineering and medical considerations,

●     product commercialisation.

All topics will be presented based on a review of several projects that Consonance has worked on in recent years.
