Wednesday, November 12th · 12:00 PM PT · Virtual (Zoom)
Join us for a thought-provoking Lunch & Learn with Captain Katie Thompson, founder of Bumprints, as she explores the path (and pitfalls) of aviation’s journey to net zero.
As global leaders convene for COP30 in Brazil this November, the aviation sector faces growing pressure to decarbonize. Katie will unpack the industry’s net-zero roadmap, assess its real-world feasibility, and discuss what climate-conscious passengers can do to make a difference.
Captain Katie Thompson, MSc, ATPL
Founder & CEO, Bumprints
Katie is a former commercial airline pilot who flew everything from seaplanes and private jets to widebody airliners. After witnessing firsthand the environmental impact of aviation, she left the cockpit to pursue an MSc in Sustainable Air Transport Management. Through her nonprofit, Bumprints, Katie and her team work to drive systemic change in aviation by empowering travelers, educators, and climate-conscious businesses to confront the true carbon cost of flying.
Bumprints is a charity on a mission to drive reform in the aviation industry by harnessing the power of every airline passenger. By raising awareness and encouraging accountability, the organization invites all travelers to help reduce their carbon “Bumprints” every time they fly.
