Business in Service to Life: Aligning Ownership, Capital & Ways of Working
A gathering for field‑builders who believe business can be a force for thriving communities, planet and people, not just profit.
With a spotlight on Steward Ownership Models for UK Businesses.
12:00 - 13:30, Tuesday 16 December
Every founder makes dozens of invisible choices about ownership, funding, and governance, often without realising how deeply these decisions shape mission integrity, exit pathways and long-term culture.
This webinar focuses on Steward Ownership, a model that UK Founders are now interested in and that protects mission as a business grows, raises investment, and transitions leadership.
Throughout 2026, we will be helping to nurture the emergence of a UK Steward Ownership movement, weaving together field-builders, advisors, investors, founders and support organisations. This webinar is the first field-building, convening moment ahead of a larger collective effort launching next year. Think of it as a pre Christmas get -together and experiment.
You’ll hear from voices across ownership, capital and ways of working. Together we will begin to explore:
Ownership - the unseen architecture Ownership silently shapes who benefits, who decides, and what endures. We’ll unpack how SO restructures power, profit flows and long-term purpose.
Capital - investment as relationship Different forms of investment carry different expectations and influence. We’ll explore how founders can raise aligned capital without compromising what matters most.
Ways of Working - governance & power with integrityGood governance isn’t red tape - it’s freedom with integrity. We’ll explore decision-making and accountability structures that build trust, resilience and alignment.
What to Expect:
An interactive session and space to hear from fellow field-builders, across the three pillars: capital, ways of working, and ownership, plus a UK-based founder who has transitioned to Steward Ownership:
Daisy Ford-Downes - capital choices
Francesca Pick (Greaterthan) - decentralised, participatory ways of working
Erica Neve & Patrick Andrews (YOAK) - ownership and Steward Ownership
Pete Russell (Ooooby) - Founder story
The session will be participatory; you will have opportunities to meet others in the field and share knowledge, questions, opportunities, tensions and experience.
Who This Is For:
People supporting or shaping mission-led organisations - from the inside or the edges
Those exploring a new blueprint for business, beyond extraction
