Freequencies
Freequencies launches with an evening of live performance, workshopping cutting-edge technologies, and knowledge exchange among participating cultural collectives.
It brings together artistic collectives, technologists, and cultural organisers, with the first gathering introducing Freequencies as an ongoing collaborative experiment in building new infrastructure for independent cultural communities.
The event series will act as a hybrid space for:
Performance (music, dance, visual art)
Knowledge exchange
Experimental collaboration (music, dance, visual art, and short-form presentations
Participants can join events in person or listen remotely via Parallel Society Radio.

Workshops and exchange
Alongside the performances, Freequencies will host informal workshops and sessions focused on decentralised tools, cultural coordination, and collective knowledge-sharing.
A Logos workshop will introduce Basecamp and show participants how to install it and run a node, familiarising attendees with the infrastructure that will support Freequencies’ shared tools.
There will also be an introduction to a coordination tool being developed to give Freequencies sovereign control over its event management processes, with attendees invited to test it in a live setting, share feedback, and help shape its future development.
Throughout the evening, there will be space for skill exchange, conversations around funding and cultural production, and opportunities to connect with people working across music, performance, visual art, technology, and independent cultural organising.
About Freequencies
Freequencies is an independent cultural project bringing together artists, collectives, researchers, technologists, and cultural organisers around a shared infrastructure for cultural production in Lisbon.
Through a series of gatherings encouraging knowledge exchange and collaborative experimentation, Freequencies explores how art and technology can support greater collective autonomy.
The project is developing decentralised tools for calendars, archives, communications, and coordination to strengthen the relationships and resources already within Lisbon’s cultural ecosystem.
Grounded in principles of privacy, freedom, and decentralised organisation, Freequencies seeks to support a more connected and resilient independent cultural network while reducing dependence on the major digital platforms that increasingly shape cultural work.
It is both a cultural programme and a practical experiment in how artists and communities can organise themselves, support one another, preserve cultural memory, and build more sustainable shared structures.
About Logos
Logos develops private messaging, storage, and blockchain infrastructure for civil society. It builds permissionless tools designed to give people and communities greater control over the systems they depend on, with a focus on privacy, sovereignty, and decentralised infrastructure.
About Parallel Society
Parallel Society is an independent, cross-cultural convergence initiated by Logos and collectively organised by a coalition of communities, technologists, artists, and activists.
Each edition supports local ecosystems and aims to leave behind open-source infrastructure, knowledge, and shared resources. It creates a space where technologists, artists, activists, and communities can collaborate on new forms of cultural and social infrastructure. The biggest edition to date was held in Lisbon’s Marvila neighbourhood in March 2026. Previous gatherings have been held in Bangkok and Zanzibar.
