Celebrating Heritage, Creating Change: Latinas in Sustainable Film & Fashion

Guests arrive and connect with one another before the program begins. Light refreshments provided including coffee and snacks, with a donation for those who wish to partake. Please bring your refillable water containers. Water cooler available. 

🕥 10:20 – 10:30 AM | Welcome & Introductions
Speakers Clementina Martínez-Masarweh and Sandra Hanns set the stage, introducing their work in film, fashion, media and sustainability. Sandra speaks about AI and sustainability in the new technological era —  their  special acknowledgment of Hispanic Heritage Month and the power of Latina leadership in climate storytelling.

🎬 10:30 – 10:45 AM | Film Screenings

  • Upcyclers: Fashion’s Climate Frontliners (7 min) – the first film in the world on the upcycling movement, spotlighting frontliners reimagining waste as resource.

  • Ropa Nunca Muere (7 min) – a poignant look at the afterlife of clothing in our culture, blending heritage and environmental urgency.

  • Cyborg Human (1 min teaser) – a haunting dystopian glimpse into the future of microplastics and human health.

  • UNECE 2024, Women in The Environment (2:30 mins) A summary of UN NGO CSW Leaders across the UNECE regions. Produced by Sandra Hanns

🔥 10:45 – 11:40 AM | Fireside Chat & Q&A
Clementina and Sandra lead an inspiring bilingual conversation that ties together the themes of the films — upcycling, microplastics, heritage, and sustainability — while highlighting Latina voices and cultural storytelling. Audience Q&A opens space for reflection and dialogue.

An open opportunity for guests to connect with the speakers and each other, discuss collaborations, and build community around fashion, film, and climate action.
