When Things Go Wrong: Managing Crypto-Asset Disputes in 2026 (In-Person Roundtable)
As digital asset markets mature and adoption accelerates, the legal and regulatory questions surrounding crypto-asset disputes are becoming increasingly complex. From cross-border enforcement to disputes involving decentralised protocols, the landscape in 2026 requires new approaches from legal, compliance, and industry stakeholders.
Hosted alongside Travers Smith, this CryptoUK roundtable will explore how disputes involving crypto-assets are evolving and what firms should expect as regulatory scrutiny increases and new forms of litigation emerge. The discussion will examine recent regulatory and enforcement trends in the UK and globally, the growing range of civil disputes beyond fraud and asset tracing, and the practical challenges associated with jurisdiction and governing law in a borderless digital ecosystem. Participants will also consider how disputes interact with decentralised finance (DeFi), smart contracts, and automated on-chain systems.
The session is designed to encourage open discussion among industry participants and legal experts, providing an opportunity to share insights and experiences from across the ecosystem.
This in-person roundtable is open to CryptoUK members. Anyone outside the CryptoUK member community who is interested in joining the roundtable is also welcome to register their interest, and a member of the team will be in touch to discuss participation.
