Generations of Aloha 2026 — Messages From Hawaiʻi's Future
An evening of original short films made in Hawaiʻi with generative AI.
This year's filmmakers were given one brief: a message that arrives from Hawaiʻi's future. A voicemail from 2040. A warning from a native species that outlived us. A broadcast from a Hawaiʻi that hasn't happened yet.
Every film runs under four minutes, uses AI meaningfully, contains at least one element made by human hands, and includes the line "That is not how I remember it."
You'll see the finalists, hear from the people who made them — including what went wrong along the way — and vote for the People's Choice before the awards are announced.
