About Event

Carbon got a price, but soil didn’t. This fact alone explains most of what is broken in nature finance today.

We understand the biology, we measure the degradation, we build the solutions. Yet capital is still not flowing into soil restoration and biodiversity protection at scale. This doesn’t stem from a lack of ambition, but it’s because we never figured out how to price what soil actually does.

This session is for investors and wealth holders who have thought seriously about nature-positive capital and want an honest conversation about what is actually stopping them.

Using soil as a starting point, we will explore:
- What does it actually take to say yes to a nature-positive deal, and how close have you come?
- A founder pitches you soil restoration with a 15-year payback. What would need to change for you to say yes: in the instrument, the risk, or the return?
- Where does nature-positive investment end and nature-positive philanthropy begin, and does that line still hold in your portfolio?

The session will be co-hosted by ClimateHack Ambassador Sofia Jordan and Dr. Philipp Staudacher. Philipp is currently conducting a Conservation Finance Alliance Incubator feasibility study on private wealth pathways for nature-positive investment, and has been exploring these questions directly with UHNW families and foundations. He is looking to contrast his early findings with the insights of investors and operators in the room.

Seats are limited to 20. First-come, first-served.
