STEPS Monthly Meet-up "Connections"
These monthly meet-ups are for sharing new ideas, experiments, events and more. Each month there will be one-word theme.
This month's theme is Connections, stewarded by Andy Thornton.
Although we've been coming together since the start of 2024, we've mostly let guest speakers and stewarded content lead a lot of the conversation.
We felt it would be nice to spend some of the next few months listening, sharing, and getting inspired from the work and ideas of each other, from those who are already amongst us. So we're focusing this next session around more intimate conversational groups where we can informally chat about:
What brings us here individually & collectively?
How are we connected and through what themes?
This will act as a useful moment for reflection to consider what it means to develop a regenerative practice that moves beyond theory, the roles we might each play to advance the STEPS Collective, and the shared journeys we could potentially take together. We're hoping to continue to explore these questions over the upcoming sessions throughout August and September.
This is a great time to bring a friend, colleague or someone you feel would appreciate connecting with likeminded peers.
If the imposter syndrome is real, as we say in our Words – which introduce each of our sessions – we're all in an ongoing dance with uncertainty, moving by tracing the faint footprints of others to sense where we take our own next step.
Knowing you walk with others helps lighten your next step. Whether your route becomes a well-trodden path for others to follow or not isn’t what matters. All our stories are unique, and all voices are welcome. You could easily say: "we're all imposters here." :)

The STEPS Collective is a community of regenerative practice that exists to help Show The Easy Place to Start (aka STEPS) through sharing provocations that get people thinking, feeling, doing and making in the regenerative space.
Our community stewards are currently Dr. Rob Phillips, Esther Hayes Grossman, Lizzie Shupak, Andy Thornton and John V Willshire.
