YOU ARE THE SUN IN DRAG
A two day summer solstice eco-drag workshop & ritual theatre experience in Berlin 20-21st June
Making the sacred silly and the silly sacred.
Lots of us want to mark the turning of the year. We feel it, the solstice, the shift, the something. But we don't know what to do with that feeling. Have you noticed the blossoms, smelt the sweet scent of the false acacia, and seen the elderflower coming? It's happening. And we want to honour it, but we don't know how.
The old rituals aren't quite ours. The new ones don't exist yet.
So I made us a workshop where we will make them up. Together. With costume and movement and joy and each other.
You Are the Sun in Drag is a two-day eco-drag workshop and ritual theatre experience.
Through meditation, movement, journalling, costume, makeup and queer ecology we'll be chosen by a life-form. Building on the pioneering work of Joanna Macy we will find a stories that want to be shared and weave them together with everyone else into a solstice ritual performed at Templehofer Feld on the longest day of the year.
I'll hold the container. You bring what you wants to come through.
