About Event

As we conclude Stanford Climate Week, join us for an uplifting and forward-looking keynote with Diane-Charlotte Simon, a trailblazer at the intersection of finance, sustainability, and education.

With over a decade of experience advancing the low-carbon transition, Diane-Charlotte has helped finance over $20 billion, including $10 billion+ in renewable energy, working across project finance, green bonds and private equity. She is the lead author and editor of Sustainability: Business and Investment Implications (World Scientific), a groundbreaking textbook now used at Columbia University and recognized as a “must-read” by the Bard MBA in Sustainability.

Today, Diane-Charlotte is focused on empowering the next generation of changemakers, from students and educators to innovators and investors, to integrate sustainability as a strategic driver of impact, resilience, and long-term value.

In this keynote, Diane-Charlotte will share her personal journey in sustainable finance and offer insights into how business and finance can be powerful forces for good. She will explore how each of us, regardless of background or profession, can play a meaningful role in shaping a more climate-conscious world. She will also address the growing backlash against sustainability, offering strategies to navigate it and reminding us why staying the course matters more than ever. Drawing on Stanford’s culture of innovation, she will highlight how an entrepreneurial mindset can be harnessed to integrate sustainability into the core of business and finance, accelerating the transition to a low-carbon future.

The event will conclude with a book signing session.
