Launch cadence, satellite constellations and orbital activity are growing rapidly. Yet the industry itself sees limited capacity to scale – and the same gap shows in sustainability: life-cycle data is patchy, orbital governance lags behind, and no single player can close these gaps alone.

In this executive roundtable, leaders from institutions, established space companies, New Space and research discuss three questions:

Governance in orbit: Which rules does a scaling sector need – from deorbiting to fair access to orbit? The footprint of scaling: How can emissions and impacts be measured across the full life cycle, from production to re-entry? Partnerships: How can agencies, primes, suppliers and research build shared standards and data – and what can space learn from other industries?

The session opens with key findings from the MHP Space Report and an institutional perspective on sustainability requirements for industry and the supply chain. It is held under the Chatham House Rule.
