About Event

Climate Tech Day continues into the afternoon with two panel sessions on where climate technology meets the built environment and the communities adopting it.

Panel one: Accelerating Circular Materials. Circular materials do not fail on chemistry. They stall on everything around the product: codes that were not written for them, procurement that defaults to the incumbent, and specification pathways that treat unproven as disqualifying. This panel works through the commercialization problem directly. What it takes for a circular material to clear standards, earn its way into a spec, and hold its position against established supply. The systems these products have to fit, and where the acceleration actually comes from.

Panel two: Community-Owned Energy. Communities do not have to wait for someone else to build their energy future. This panel looks at how communities, including First Nations, take ownership of generation and distribution, and what stands between a project on paper and one that is built. Governance, financing, and the regulatory sequence that decides whether a community-run project moves or stalls.

The Community Action Bus departs downtown Victoria at 12:00 PM and returns at 4:30 PM. Transport to the session is provided.

Location of the sessions TBD.
