2025 Africa Venture Capital Exit and Liquidity Webinar Understand Who Exits, How They Exit, and What That Means for Capital in Africa

For years, the African investment ecosystem has tracked how capital enters the continent. This webinar turns the lens on the other side of that equation.

Stears and Ventures Platform recently published the 2025 Africa Venture Capital Exit and Liquidity Report — the first structured, data-driven analysis of venture exit activity across the continent. Built on 181 verified VC-backed exits spanning 15 years, the report introduces the SVL Index, a proprietary framework that moves beyond exit counts to measure the depth, quality, and sustainability of liquidity in African VC.

The findings are clear: African venture capital is more active than the data gap has suggested, yet more concentrated and more fragile than headline numbers imply. Four markets dominate exit activity. Trade sales account for 73% of all verified exits. Secondary transactions are rising but remain nascent. And the structural constraints shaping these outcomes have direct implications for how funds are designed, how LPs set expectations, and how the ecosystem grows from here.

This webinar brings together the researchers who built the report and the practitioners who have lived its findings — for an honest, evidence-led conversation about where African VC liquidity stands today and what it will take to deepen it.

What to expect: — A presentation of the report's headline findings and the SVL Index methodology — A practitioner panel on what the data means for fund strategy, M&A activity, and LP relationships — Live Q&A with the speakers
