DNV's Energy Transition Outlook forecasts the most likely global and regional energy transition trajectory based on our independent model of the world's energy systems. We will present highlights from both our global and UK models including comparisons with global warming targets, UK specific targets and the benefits and challenges of electrification using low-carbon energy sources.
Guest Speakers:
Hari Vamadevan is Senior Vice President at DNV. He has over 30 years’ experience in various leadership positions across the energy and shipping sectors. He sits on the Energy Systems Executive Leadership Team.
He is currently the Regional Director of Energy Systems operations in the UK and Ireland, leading an 800-strong advisory and assurance team across the entire Energy System – Renewables, Power Grids and Oil & Gas. He is focused on helping customers make the transition to a decarbonised energy future and this includes making a positive biodiversity impact. He is an authority on the complex facets of the whole systems approach to the energy transition.
He is also chairperson of all DNV’s UK and Ireland businesses. He is a graduate of Imperial College, London and holds a master’s in chemical engineering.
Sarah Kimpton is the Energy Transition Director at DNV. She is a chemist by training with a PhD from University College London and a particular interest in molecules in the energy transition – these include carbon dioxide, hydrogen and the transitioning role of fossil fuels.
Sarah started her career at British Gas Research in the 1980s and has worked in the energy industry ever since. She is currently based at DNV’s office on Loughborough University's campus.
