[AI Week] Build Your First Robot: Hands-On Robotics Workshop
Most people who are interested in robotics never actually build a robot.
They watch a few videos, maybe buy some parts, open a tutorial, get attacked by wiring diagrams, and quietly decide that maybe robots can wait until next year.
This workshop is the antidote to that.
In one hands-on session, you will build a working WiFi-controlled rover from scratch. The kit is provided, the chassis is ready, the wiring guide is on the table, and you will have direct support throughout the build.
This is not a sit-back-and-nod workshop. You will assemble the rover, wire the electronics, flash the firmware, test it, troubleshoot it when something inevitably behaves like a tiny stubborn shopping trolley, and then drive it around.
No prior hardware or coding experience required. This is for curious beginners, students, developers, designers, founders, and anyone who has always wanted to build a robot but wanted someone in the room to say, “yes, that wire goes there.”
You will work with an ESP32-based rover kit, including chassis, motors, motor driver, ultrasonic sensor, and wiring components. By the end of the workshop, you will have a working rover that you built yourself and can take home.
You will leave with:
A working WiFi-controlled rover
Practical experience with hardware assembly, wiring, firmware, testing, and troubleshooting
Wiring diagrams and pre-written firmware so you can keep building after the session
A much better understanding of how embedded systems and robotics actually work
