Bomberhead: Perception of Value — Opening Night First Friday @ West Town Chamber of Commerce
Join us for the opening of Bomberhead: Perception of Value, a new body of work by Chicago-based artist McDonald “Ghostskater” Predelus.
Ghostskater is a mixed-media artist, creative director, and founder of Ghostskate — the largest skateboarding meetup group in the United States. His work blends street culture, character design, and layered material exploration to create visual symbols centered around joy, movement, and perception.
At the center of this exhibition is the Bomberhead — a recurring character within the Ghostskate universe that acts as a conduit of joy, optimism, and positive energy. Each Bomberhead carries its own personality and invites viewers to project their own meaning into the work.
This series incorporates deconstructed federal currency directly into each piece. Rather than presenting money as monetary value, the material is transformed into texture, color, and form — challenging viewers to reconsider what value actually means.
Through layered paint, tactile surfaces, and reconstructed materials, Perception of Value invites you to slow down, look deeper, and question how meaning — and worth — is created.
✨ Expect:
• Original paintings + mixed media works
• A community-driven opening night
• Energy, movement, and conversation
Come through. Bring a friend. Tap into the energy.
