SxSHold'Em - Founder Investor Showdown

​One of our previous poker nights led to a founder closing a $3.5M pre-seed round with investors they met at the table.

​South by South Hold'Em is where founders meet a curated crew of Austin's most active investors — across small/mid cap buyout, medical & scientific venture, pre-seed/seed vertical SaaS, full-spectrum permanent capital, and full-spectrum SaaS angel. Two investors seated at every table.

​$250 buyin, 2/4 blinds — Rebuy under $50 — three tables of 6-8, ~18-24 total players. Tables are kept small on purpose so you can actually talk to the people across from you.

​We play "The Button Flow Wave" — when you deal, you contribute to the button pot. As the button moves, it accumulates. Win the hand when the button's on you, you win the button pot. When it hits, the very next hand is $5 ante PLO (Pot Limit Omaha). PLO is the wave — whatever you thought was happening in the rotation, PLO moves a lot of energy through the table. Never played PLO?
